Sometimes I feel as though life is moving too fast, changing too much, and I just want to hold on to the here and now. At the same time I'm excited about the future and where God is leading me. I've found that the constant struggle between looking forward and looking back can be stressful. Of course, there's a simple solution for this. The namesake of this blog is Isaiah 43:18-19: "Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" I've found great comfort in this verse during my currently hectic life. So I created this blog to write about my busy life, what's new, what's to come, and how God is speaking to me.

Hunger Games Official Trailer!

The film adaptation of my favorite book (ever!) comes to the big screen on March 23, 2012. This morning we were blessed with the first theatrical trailer, revealed on Good Morning America. Check it out below!

I had chills the first time I watched this, and I had to watch it several times after that to make sure I didn't miss anything. Here's a list of my top 5 favorite moments. :)

1) Katniss volunteering to take the place of her sister, Prim, as tribute. This scene nearly brought tears to my eyes. I was a little hesitant when Jennifer Lawrence was first cast, but this moment squashed any doubts I had about her ability to portray Katniss.

2) Caesar Flickerman and Katniss. May I just say, Caesar looks amazing with his blue hair. I am definitely a Stanley Tucci fan.

3) Katniss's farewell gesture to Rue. I really liked that they kept such a detail from the book in the movie. To bade farewell to Rue, Katniss places the 3 middle fingers of her hand to her lips then lifts her arm out. It's moments like these that will really impact the audience.

4) Katniss's official stylist, Cinna. He's only in the trailer for a second or two, and he only has a single line, but there's just something about him that really makes him stand out to me. I look forward to seeing more of him in the coming months.

5) We only caught a few quick glimpses of him, but I was really thrilled to see Cato in this trailer. Not a major character, but he is an important one. And everyone loves a good villain right? Cato looked just how I imagined he would, and his air of deadly confidence really showed. I can't wait to see more of Cato.

Overall, I was really happy with this trailer. I'm always a little skeptical with book-to-movie adaptations, but from the looks of it, Lionsgate may just pull it off! If this trailer is anything to go by, The Hunger Games will not disappoint.
